One of my fave all-time songs growing up in the church was My Tribute. It goes like this, “How can I say thanks for the things you have done for me, things so undeserved yet you gave to prove your love to me, The voices of a million angels can not express my gratitude. All that I am and ever hope to be, I owe it all to thee!!”
For some reason as this year, this decade ends that is what is going through my head and my heart. How can I say thanks? My answer is I can say thanks by listening to that still small voice that reigns big in my life. I can say thanks by giving of myself and my heart to those around me. I can say thanks by being more of the person God called me to be.
I can trust more, I can love more, I can worry less, I can slow down. I can trust more, I can be less judgemental. I can be more understanding of things I don’t understand and let them go. I can let others be fully who they are so I can be fully who I am. There are so many ways that my life can be a life filled with thanks. I never even have to say it, I can live out a life of thanks.
So as the decade ends, as the year ends and another one dawns I am over the moon excited about the next phase to live and to love and to rejoice in it. I pray God shows me more of who he wants me to be and much less of me. I pray that my life is one big thank you!!!!! And so it is.
Thank you for sharing, Karen. You are loved!!!
Bryan I can always count on you to cheer me on!!!!!!
