Blessings for Me and Blessings for You!!! (This is written format of my podcast from July but it is applicable for today and everyday!!)

Blessings For Me And For You

The world’s crazy. Isn’t it? The world’s cray cray. Turns out that I’m okay with cray cray.  I’m good. I can handle cray-cray very easily. That works okay for me. I think one of the things that I’ve noticed that happens is that sometimes we think if somebody wins and somebody loses, that’s not always the case in life. That’s not always the case. I think there are blessings that are out there for all of us. To grab a hold of it and just because somebody else wins, that doesn’t mean we can’t win too.

Even with business, when we first started, my mission-critical was we’re just gonna go up there, and every single person that comes to our company, we’re just gonna teach them to be stronger in mind, body, and spirit. I’m gonna help them feel great about themselves. I’m gonna help them be the best they can be. And along the way, whatever we make, we’re gonna share with our community.

I was very clear about what our mission statement was at Beachy Beach. It is this: “The  only people we have to get even with are those that have helped us.” That way, if we see someone out they’re doing something wrong and we wanna smack it to ’em, we remember,  Nope, that’s not in our mission statement. We go find somebody that’s doing it right. That’s being kind and loving and good and decent. We complement them and we lift them up and we bless them.

We also find people that are in need.  We  help them because that’s what we’re here for. That’s our mission statement. If we go to anything else, we’re not doing what we’re put here to do. So I don’t waste any of my time with that other malarkey stuff. But as a human being, sometimes I see folks doing really well and not making the right decisions and think, how does that happen? But you know what? You don’t know people’s hearts. So you’re best just to stick to your own heart.

Today is July the 1st. Yay! You know how I love the beginning of everything. The beginning of the month, the beginning of the year, the beginning of the day is all so beautiful and sacred. So today is July the first and July the fourth weekend. How exciting is that? So it’s America’s Independence Day. Maybe it will be your independence day from old thoughts, old beliefs, and things that have held you back. Thoughts that if someone else is successful, you can’t be, because there’s only so much to go around. That is again malarkey.

I’d like to share today’s affirmation and then talk a little more about it.

Blessings for me and for you,

God, I am learning that your desire for all your kids to have a good life.

Even a great life.

I can win. And so can you.

In fact, it is God’s desire for all God’s kids to be fruitful and harmonious.

I don’t have to be like you to like you. I am unique. And so are you.

I can be successful. And so can you.

I can believe something. And so can you.

Blessings are not limited. All that is mine is yours.

God has created an abundant world for all his kids to prosper and enjoy.

God has created a world for us while so very different.

We can share a heart of giving. Loving and honoring each other.

There are abundant blessings for me and for you.

 And so it is.

The theme this week has been about treating the day as sacred, treating each other as sacred realizing that we all don’t have to think alike and be alike and love alike to be liked.

Sadly one of my friends, Daphne Lewis, who is an amazing actress, also goes to my gym. Someone criticized and said something very, very hateful and unkind to her gay son. Very, very unkind. It broke my heart. It broke my heart because when one of God’s kids, whether you agree, whether you think it’s the thing or not, when they are  hurt and criticized, we are all hurt and criticized.

We are living in such a time that if we can’t love God’s kids, then just kind of turn the corner and go somewhere else, you know? Because saying unkind things to people and hurting people and not blessing God’s kids is so hurtful.  I’m so thankful that the people who listen to this, the people that are here with me, wouldn’t do that. Not a single one of you here would ever criticize someone. Because of their belief system, because of their political party, because of their sexual orientation, because of their religious orientation, because of their not religious orientation.  Last time I checked and I’ll check again.

Jesus’s mandate for me if I’m going to follow him is to love God and love people. It did not say love God and love people that are like me. Love people that agree with me, love people that worship like me, love, like me, all those things. It doesn’t say any of that.  We are a nation that is so diverse.

Here we are on July the 4th weekend. We fought for our independence from people to tell us how to live, how to worship, how to do and be. And we got there! Let’s remember that.  That mission statement is to be a diverse people that are separated by church and state.

We’re all different and my way is not the way it’s my way, but I’m not telling you what your way is. Jesus deals with all of us in our own unique and special way. It’s loving and it’s kind, sometimes it’s corrective! I’ve been corrected on many occasions and I think as long as I’m living, I’ll probably keep on being corrected.

I know that today’s message was all over the place. And I know those of you that have been with me for a while are thinking that’s no big deal. That’s normal. But, my heart just poured out today and whatever came forth I wanted to share with you.

Today, let’s think about all the blessings that we’ve been given and all the blessings that our neighbors have been given and realize that our mission here on the planet is to love God and love people. And if anything we’re doing in the pursuit of that gets in the way of that one mission-critical we’re missing the boat.  I think we’re missing the peace and harmony and the joy that God has for each of us.

Y’all be sweet.
