My mama used to tease me and say that I was happiest when I was climbing mountains. The only thing is I do love a hefty climb but only metaphorically as the mountain thing includes heights and I am not as wild about the real thing. I however have not ever met a challenge I don’t love and this one is no different!
Right now in our industry we have been given a mountain to climb and the good news is we all get to climb it together!!! The better news is that by climbing this metaphorical mountain we are all going to become either better or bitter. I know which trail I am going to climb and would rather take all of you with me.
So many of the challenges in my life were not created by my choices but I had to tackle them all the same. The thing that has always rung true is that with each of them I became more of who I was meant to be in the first place. I love how when you are given a task that seems near to impossible and you handle it, you realize how many other seemingly impossible things you can do.
I have met some amazing people along the way and the ones I want to follow are the solution oriented ones who always seem to find the solution for every problem. I have however also met people that are talented in finding the problem in every solution.
Along with climbing, I have found that I tend to find what I am looking for. If I want to create all the possible problems or worse case scenarios then that is what I will find. I have chosen to visualize the best case scenarios and see us winning and creating valued and satisfied customers for life. I see us creating a place where people know that we are ALWAYS looking for a better and bigger way to create value in the lives of others.
Visualization has long been a technique of mine used to practice my success and happiness before it arrives. I not only practice what it looks like, I imagine what it feels like to me. My body is able to recreate what I have already practiced in my heart and my soul.
I love the story of the Pommel horse hero, Stephen Nedoroscik. First of all let’s take a look back prior to his pommel horse heroism at the 2024 olympics. He had a terrible vision problems as a young fellow and wanted to be involved with gymnastics. Stephen realized that his vision would hinder him from being an all around gymnast which is necessary in that field. He decided at a young age to double down on the pommel horse and devote all his time to this endeavor. It paid off because in 2021 he became the world champion.
Now as his story unfolds he is waiting to compete in a final round that would seal his victory. After he solves his rubix cube which is his stress release he is found with head thrown back, relaxed in a chair. It looks as though he is taking a nap while waiting for his turn. But instead he is visualizing and walking through his entire routine and not so much as what it looks like but what are the feelings that he is having as he moves his body through the air. When you imagine and feel in your body, brain scans show it stimulates the region of the brain as if you were performing the action.
Athletes have used this technique countless times and it is scientifically proven to create successful outcomes. The beauty of visualization is that it works in all areas of our lives. I am pretty sure most of us don’t need skills to be olympic athletes but I believe that we can tap into our belief systems and use it for our task before us.
Call me crazy, but I am very excited about what is before us!!! I am 100 percent confident that each and EVERY one of us will create a business and a life that we are proud of. I am excited about taking all of us up and over the mountain!!!!
I am so proud of us!!!!
