Aiming too low and reaching it!!!

Dear Happy Asses,

Do you ever read something or see something and say, “OUCH they are talking to me!!!” Yep me too and lately I have been settling for Good enough in my life and especially in my fitness. Now I know that those who know me are about to jump to my defense!!!!!!!!!!!

But Karen you never miss your workouts and I see you striving and achieving and all that. But Coach JT posted something the other day and I had to admit that I too was suffering from the malady of….. Just Good Enough!!! That is easy to do if you have accomplished something or you are on your way to accomplish something. It is easy to stop short of your goal and even easier to think that the level of achievement that you want is just not that important!!! Let me tell you why I think it is so important.

I have spoken before about how important goal setting is for me but I also acknowledge that greater than that is my growth. My continual growth in the areas of fitness, finance and just all around being a good human does not happen by accident. If you have known me for any amount of time you can probably guess which areas I accept as good enough. I don’t want to do that.

I was convicted when I read that post by JT and this is what it led with; “ Most people DON’T fail because they aim too high and miss it…. They fail because they aim too low and achieve it” I believe that there are so many things that I have settled for and believed that it was enough when the pinnacle is just over one more hill, one more try, one more get back up and give it another go!!!

Is there something in your life that you have accepted or a goal that you know that is yours for the taking but you are just okay with the way life is? I have allowed myself to be taken over by all the have toos in life and not paid attention to the things that I know in my soul that I am put here to do!! Funny how one statement can pierce you and remind you that you really do want to be more than just good enough!!!

I hope that something in the Monday note resonates with you and if it does not then perhaps you already have it figured out. I am still seeking and while I am I will bring all of you along for the bumpy and twisty turn ride!

Love ya, Love ya, Love ya!!!
