Authors note: This is a written format of my podast and affirmation, so if it sounds like someone is talking, that is exactly what is happening!!!

Look Like Love! Sound Like Love!
I am fired up right now! I am reading Andy Stanley’s book. You can find it here. I am reading,Not In It To Win It by Andy Stanley. I think it should be required reading for our United States of America. Especially if you consider yourself a Jesus follower.
If you’re not a Jesus follower, you don’t have to read it, but if you claim to be a Jesus follower (not a believer, because anybody can believe stuff) but a Jesus follower, you need to read Not In It to Win It. I’m telling y’all I’m listening to the audiobook right now, then I’m going to read it after that.
Let me tell you where our affirmation came from today. I’ve been thinking a lot about this kind of thing lately, about how we sound, what we look like in our day-to-day activities and dealing with people, because, you know, pretty soon the political stuff’s gonna start heating back up again, and people are gonna be crazy.
They’re gonna act like their political party is their God. And it is not, it’s not even close. It has nothing to do with your value system inside of your heart, your Jesus following. A political party has nothing to do with it. And if it does, then maybe we need to take a little look at ourselves. I’m talking about me too. It’s not just you.
I’m gonna tell you what I read that made me think about what I’m writing about today. This was in Bob Goff’s devotion and this one statement just jumped out at me and I said, “Ah, that’s it!”
It says,” Find friends who sound like Jesus and put them on repeat in our lives.” So I thought, “Gosh if we sound like Jesus if we look like Jesus sound like love, we’ll look like love” And that’s it! Y’all that’s it in a nutshell, that’s all you gotta worry about.
You don’t have to worry about all the other stuff. Isn’t that cool? Here’s our affirmation today
Sound Like Love, Look like Love!
God, I want to sound like love. So I need to listen to loving voices. I want to look like love. So I will watch and emulate loving acts. I become what I listen to and watch, I become like the people I surround myself with.
I create my life by the company. I keep, I desire to be more loving with the people I encounter finding reasons to love deeper and wider. Let others hear love in me. Let others see love in me. I concentrate and focus on kindness. I let God be present in all I say and do. And so it is.
Do ya’ll remember the song, “Let Others See Jesus in Me ” I wanna turn it around and make it personal. When you were a little girl or when you were going to Bible school did you sing that song?
Let others see Jesus in me.
Let others see Jesus in me.
Keep telling his story.
Be faithful and true.
Let others see Jesus in me.
What I want people to hear is:
Let others see Jesus in me,
Let others see Jesus in me
keep living his story,
be faithful and true.
Let others see Jesus in me
If I speak in love, if I act in love, I don’t need to worry about all the other stuff. It is not “and, or” It is just this: love one another, as he has loved you.
The old Testament stuff has passed away. That is history. That is biblical history. It is not how we live today. We do not conquer people. We do not conquer things. We love each other. That’s it. That’s the whole thing in a nutshell. And if you can get that, if I can get that, then all the other things will be added unto it. That is the way of peace, it’s the way of joy. It’s the way of love as I understand it.
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. So that’s my message for you today. I love this scripture too, and I think it will help us remember today as we’re going about our business to make sure we look like love and we sound like love.
“Let your conversation always be full of grace and seasoned with salt so that you will know how to answer anyone.” Colossians 4:6
Isn’t that beautiful?
Let your conversation always be full of grace and seasoned with salt.
It isn’t full of salt and seasoned with grace. It says full of grace!. Full of grace and season with salt so that you will know how to answer everyone. I think that’s how we go into today. We let everything that we say be full of grace and seasoned with salt.
Y’all, I love you so much. You give me so much joy, so much light, and so much hope. My prayer for you today, My wish for you today, is that you will go out today from this moment on and everything you say and you do will look like love and sound like love.
Your message today is spot on! To be a follower of Jesus, “Love” must be what people see in us. I’m going to order Andy’s book. Have a blessed day!
Carol, You will love it so very much!!!
