Dear Sweet Happy Asses!!!
I heard the coolest thing on a podcast today and I instantly added it to my soundtrack!!!! I switched on Jay Shetty On Purpose and he said this and instantly my mind opened up!!! Don’t you just love it when things speak to you and you can POW, think about how true a statement can be??? Okay so here you go….. “See Every impediment as an invitation” LETS GO!!! HECK YES I CAN DO THAT AND SO CAN YOU.
Can you think back on your life at the things you thought were detrimental and they forced you to find a better way, forced you to dig a little deeper. Also I know and you know too that all the things that have worked out in your life are probably because something else DID NOT work out. I know you all remember that country song, “ I thank God for unanswered prayers.” I think all of us can shake our heads with enthusiasm on that one.
While I am throwing out fun and insightful sayings I will give you this one also that I read in a Brene Brown book, The Gifts of Imperfections. I am reading that one again and NOT because I casually wanted to but because I have some impediments in my life that I need to notice as invitations and not so much a road block. Maybe these things are a reminder to truly choose ONLY those things that are authentic to the life that I want to live. So Brene said: “The universe is not short on wake up calls, We’re just quick to hit the snooze button”
I don’t know about you but I don’t want to hit the snooze button. As I get up in the years of creating more wisdom, (don’t you love how I skirted the mention of age?) I want to make the absolute best use of my time here on this planet. Age has allowed me to realize that so much of what I worried about or fretted about NEVER happened and all that did was keep me from what I could do and I want to do as much as I can do with my time on this planet.
So today I am believing and affirming:
I SEE EVERY IMPEDIMENT AS AN INVITATION
AN INVITATION TO FIND MORE PEACE AND ENCOURAGEMENT
AN INVITATION TO FIND BETTER WAYS OF DOING THINGS
AN INVITATION TO ASK FOR HELP
AN INVITATION TO BE GRATEFUL FOR EVERY LESSON
AN INVITATION TO LOVE DEEPER AND WIDER AND LONGER
AND SO IT IS.
How about that I just threw an affirmation in the middle of my note to you!!!! I hope your day is filled with so many invitations to a beautiful and well lived life!!!
