Dear Happy Asses,
First of all, let me confess: I have never been much of a math person. Just the thought of math used to give me both a headache and a tummy ache at the same time! I had a tutor all through college just to keep up the grades my self-esteem required, but math was simply never my jam.
That said, I do love those silly “girl math” reels I see because I can relate! I’ve also discovered that I have my own kind of math, and it has worked beautifully for my life. I call it gratitude math, and I bet it will work for you, too.
Here’s the equation: the more I share, the more I have.
Whether it’s knowledge, skills, money, or time, every time I give something away, it multiplies back to me in ways I never expected. It doesn’t always make sense on paper, but it works in real life. Sharing expands us — it helps us grow, deepens our learning, and enlarges our capacity to love.
As my friends in recovery often say: “You can only keep what you’re willing to give away, for fun and for free.”
So let’s lean into that math together this week. Let’s share more, love more, and give more — and watch how it all comes back around, multiplied.
Grateful for you,
Karen Key Smith
